Your Imaginary Savior

In your eyes I wish I wasn’t so unremarkable.

In the Comfortable facade you have wrapped me in,
MY wings have been stripped, tattered feathers.
On a cross you sacrifice me and LOVE.
On a mountain far away from Calvary.
Though it feels like I hide in Suburbia.
On the ground below me no frankencense.
Just the mur- mur of my own voice trailing to the abyss.
Sirens, pleadings and LOVE wouldn’t tame you or show you.
You know much better than they the certainty of personal Truths,
Even when doubted. And they reveal a need
To carry the spear meant for my side at your breast.
Nights turn to day, Firm ground to brimstone seas,
Watched over in anticipation from the precipice of your mind.
My fear is academic and childlike,- faithful,
As heart-shaped shadows haunt me.
Aware of flames and the etchings of untrue words.
The lineage of poetic hatred is awakened by my sudden stare.
It’s all for  you. It’s all for you, sang my black heart.
From its lofty position.
From up here, A deep rush of my breath, catches me unaware
Revealing A panic stricken epiphany
Of my see through, beautiful you.
No longer omnipresent, oniscient, omnipotent. or omnianything.
No sitting at the right hand of anyone, no Life eternal from this role.
