Vanity comes in a bottle.
Scientific potions, and creams.
Perfect Angels – down to their wings
sell modern day snake oil.
Plastic bands in my belly.
Now I’m worthy.
Images of success from a box,
tethered securely into the wall.
Life in segments,
from pilot to number thirteen.
Force fed delusions – shine blue light
on what life could have been.
Drink the right beer.
Drive the right Euro sedan.
Life’s a twenty-four seven party.
And you’re sure to win the lottery.
So buy a ticket.
Buy the hype,
aimed at heart and head.
For all the kids you’ll educate with those dollars.
