Monogrammed straight jacket
Here in the lap of luxury
Initials there to match the name
On my Adult-Child proof plastic bracelet.
Falls’ color is a marigold.
Clashing with an orderly’s green scrubs
Opposing the happy go sane pastels
Of everything else.
They give pills to make me feel better
Which may cause liver disease,
Erectile dysfunction, loss of libido,
Migraines or make me drowsy.
Where’s the comfort or fun in that?
Those in charge are to me, painfully aware
That my thoughts are heavy machinery
And that I should not be operating them.
Here on the road to happy destiny.
If I get lost, at least I’ve got
A monogrammed straight jacket
Initials there to match the name
